Frequently Asked Questions

When should I take a campus tour?

Undergraduate students can take a campus tour at Texas Wesleyan University Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tours last about an hour and a half, and are led by student Rambassadors., Plus, for new domestic undergraduate students, completing a visit is a Smarter U+ Scholarship step — which earns you $500 toward an additional scholarship of up to $2,000 each year. Those needing a weekend visit option can visit our office on select Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and tour campus at 11 a.m. (Not available during June, July and August.)

What do I need to know about FAFSA?

The FAFSA is the primary gateway to federal student aid, including grants, work-study programs and loans. By completing the FAFSA, Texas Wesleyan students can potentially receive funds to help cover tuition, fees, room and board and other educational expenses. You can complete the FAFSA in three steps:

  • Create an FSA ID:You’ll need an FSA ID to access your FAFSA application and other federal student aid services.
  • Gather Required Information:Have your Social Security number, driver’s license number (if applicable), and tax information ready. If you’re filing as a dependent, you’ll need your parent(s) information, too.
  • Complete the FAFSA: Fill out the FAFSA online at fafsa.gov. Be sure to list Texas Wesleyan as one of the schools you’re considering. Our code is 003645.

How do I send my test scores?

For undergraduate students, Texas Wesleyan doesn’t require you to submit test scores. However, if you would like to submit your scores, there are three ways to submit SAT or ACT scores:

  • Use the SAT or ACT websites – here are the TXWES school codes:
      • SAT: 6828
      • ACT: 4222
  • Ask your high school guidance counselor to submit your scores
  • Visit the Office of Admissions and print your scores from the SAT or ACT website

 

Certain graduate programs require GRE and GMAT test scores. Those can be submitted by requesting that your scores be sent directly from the testing service (like ETS for the GRE) or, you can send official electronic scores to [email protected].

What scholarships does TXWES offer?

Texas Wesleyan University offers a variety of undergraduate scholarships, including merit-based freshman and transfer scholarships.

What is my biggest concern about TXWES?

Concerns about Texas Wesleyan will vary from student to student. However, a common concern is the size of Texas Wesleyan. If you prefer a big college community, Texas Wesleyan may not fit your idea of the right college experience. Texas Wesleyan keeps our size small so we can commit more resources to serving individual student success.

What is my non-negotiable when it comes to college?

College experiences are as unique to each student so it’s important to identify your particular nonnegotiable to get the most from your education. A few examples of these factors can include academic focus, location, campus size, and financial aid options.
